Planning a Curbless Walk-In Shower on Cape Cod
A curbless shower can give a bathroom an open look and a barrier-free entry. Its success depends on planning the floor, drain, and waterproofing together before the tile is chosen.

Plan the entry early
A zero-threshold entry affects the height and structure of the bathroom floor. M.S Tile reviews the existing space at an on-site estimate before recommending how the shower can meet the adjoining floor.
Make drainage part of the design
A Schluter linear drain can support a single slope toward the drain. The floor and drain must work together so water moves away from the open entry.
Protect what sits behind the tile
Tile and grout are the visible finish, not the waterproofing layer. M.S Tile plans the shower pan, walls, niches, and benches as one waterproof assembly using approved Schluter or Laticrete systems.
Test before the finish goes on
A mandatory 24-hour hydrostatic flood test checks the shower pan before tile setting. The installation carries the stated 5-year workmanship warranty on all installations; 10-year waterproofing warranty on shower pans.
